About this apartment
Gold-flecked wallpaper runs through the whole flat and sets the look: a cream quilted headboard with thin brass inlays, gold lamps either side of the bed, a cream dressing table with a framed mirror, and an arched floor mirror by the window. The bedroom is a separate room with wood floors. The lounge has a grey velvet L-shaped sofa around a glass-and-gold coffee table, tucked into a bay window, and the speckled granite kitchen counter doubles as a breakfast bar for two. There is a ceramic hob, a water dispenser and a washing machine, and the bathroom has a vessel basin and a glass shower.
At 797 sq ft it is the smaller of our two Penta Square one-bedrooms, sized for a couple or a solo guest rather than a family. Penta Square is in DHA Phase 5, with its own mall on the ground and second floors, so food and groceries do not need a car. The washing machine makes it a practical monthly rental in DHA; housekeeping is still daily, reception is staffed around the clock, and the generator keeps the AC on through load-shedding.

The building
Penta Square is a complex rather than a single tower. Block A is the main sixteen-storey residential building over three basements, Blocks C to F are lower residential blocks, and Block B holds the mall. Our apartments are on the upper residential floors, away from the mall traffic, with reception, lift access and covered parking.
