Booking a Lahore Apartment on WhatsApp? 9 Things to Check Before You Pay
The photos look good. Before you send the advance, get these nine answers in writing — from us or from anyone you're booking with.
The photos look good, the price seems fair, and the reply came fast. That's usually the exact moment someone sends an advance and finds out later that the apartment, or the person they were messaging, wasn't what it looked like.
This isn't a YOLU sales pitch — it's the same nine questions worth asking any operator in Lahore before you pay anything. We've built our own answers into each one, since a checklist means more with a real example behind it.
1. See the exact apartment, not a listing photo
Ask for a short video of the actual unit — not stock photos, not "similar to this." A video call helps you check the space is real and matches what's advertised. It doesn't prove ownership on its own, so treat it as one check among several, not the whole answer.
2. Know who you're actually talking to
Are you messaging the person who manages the unit, or an agent forwarding your question to someone else? We manage our apartments directly, so whoever answers your message is whoever you'd call if something needed sorting during your stay — not a middleman relaying it onward.
3. Confirm dates and guest count in writing
Get your check-in date, check-out date, and the number of guests confirmed back to you in the same chat, before any money moves. It sounds obvious until a mismatch shows up at the door.
4. Ask for the full price, not just the nightly number
A nightly rate multiplied by your stay isn't always the total. Ask what's included and what isn't before you agree to anything.
5. Understand advance versus deposit — they're not the same thing
An advance is part-payment toward your actual stay. A security deposit is a separate, refundable amount held against damage, and it's a different conversation. Our policy: no deposit at all on a standard booking. For events or larger groups we may ask for a refundable amount, and we'll tell you that before you confirm — not after you've already paid.
6. Get the cancellation terms before you pay, not after
Ask what happens if your plans change. Ours: free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in on standard bookings. Whatever operator you're booking with, get this in writing in the same thread as your booking.
7. Know what check-in actually requires
Ask exactly what documents are needed, and get the answer before you travel. Ours: a CNIC or passport, original or a clear copy — nothing else, no nikah nama, no marriage certificate. Verification happens once at reception, as required under Hotel Eye, the Punjab Police guest-registration system, and after that the apartment is yours privately for the stay.
8. Ask about visitors and any rules you might not expect
Document requirements, visitor policy, and anything about who else can be present are worth asking explicitly rather than assuming. Don't wait to find out at the door what wasn't said in the chat.
9. Ask what happens if something goes wrong
Before you pay, ask what the process looks like if the unit turns out not to match what was promised, or becomes unavailable. Keep the agreed terms and your payment receipt together in the same conversation — it's the only record you'll have if you need one.
One distinction worth knowing
This checklist is for booking directly with an operator over WhatsApp — the way our own bookings work. If you're booking through Airbnb instead, payment should stay on Airbnb's own platform. Being asked to move an Airbnb booking's payment to WhatsApp is itself a warning sign, not a shortcut — Airbnb generally handles reservation payments through its own system for a reason.
We manage our own apartments directly across DHA, Gulberg, and Johar Town, so every one of these nine answers is something we can actually confirm in the same WhatsApp thread you book through. If you're comparing buildings first, what you'll be asked for at check-in covers the documents question in more depth. Otherwise, send us your dates and ask us these nine questions directly — a real operator answers all of them without hesitating.
